Interrelativity Profile Help
Interrelativity provides integrated hardware and software solutions to help people connect with others in shared physical spaces, such as this event.
One such solution is a proactive display, consisting of a large computer display connected to an radio frequency identification (RFID) reader that can detect RFID tags worn by people nearby, and show content relating to those people on the display.

The content shown by proactive displays is derived from profiles created by event participants who register on our web site. Participants may create, modify or delete profiles – or any information in their profiles – by visiting the web site at any time before, during or after the event.
Participants who create an Interrelativity profile before the event will have an RFID tag associated with their profile inserted into their name tag; on-site registrants who wish to participate must associate their profile with an RFID tag at a special-purpose kiosk at the meeting. These kiosks can also be used to create, modify or delete profiles.
There are links across the top to the home page, this help page, and a page describing our privacy policy.
Please note: for the current version of the profile registration pages, you will need to press the SUBMIT or UPDATE button to save any changes, e.g., using the NEXT or PREVIOUS buttons. The PREVIEW button is only for previewing, not saving, profile information, in case you want to preview several different possible images for any theme.
Profile
This section is for your primary profile information. Some of this information will be shared with other event participants, other portions of it will not be shared with anyone (see below).
- Full Name: Your first and last name, as you would like to be addressed at this event.
- Email Address: An email address we can use to send forgotten passwords (we will not share your email address with anyone, online or offline).
- Password: A password to restrict access to this profile.
- Organization: The name of your company, academic or government institution, or another organization with which you feel a strong affinity.
- Title: Your title, role or position within this organization.
- Photo: A photo of yourself, preferrably a portrait-style photo or one in which your face is prominent, so that people viewing a proactive display or online bio (see below) can match faces with names and people.
- Ticket image: An image of some interest — or, ideally, some passion — about which you would be happy to talk with anyone at this event (essentially, your "ticket to talk"). Two options are available for uploading this image (which has to be a file in GIF/JPG format with a maximum size of 2MB): specify the URL of the file [this is the default], or upload the image from a local drive (hard disk or thumb drive). Clicking on upload will bring up a Browse button that will enable you to search for the file to upload; clicking on specify the URL will remove the Browse button and reset the yield to accept a URL string. [One way to easily specify a URL string if you are using Internet Explorer is to bring up a separate browser window, and when you find an image you want to use, right-click on the image, select the "Properties" item, then mark the contents of the "Address (URL)" field for the image, copy it into the Windows clipboard (CTRL-C), go back to the Interrelativity profile window and paste the string into the image URL field (CTRL-V).]
- Ticket text: A title or brief description for what your Ticket image represents (for those of us who may not "get it" at first glance), or a short, pithy quote you want to share with us.
There are three buttons at the bottom of each page:
- PREVIEW: Pops up a window showing what your profile information will look like on a Ticket2Talk display (note the portrait-mode orientation); if your image does not appear as you thought it would, you can go back and select a different one.
- SUBMIT / UPDATE: You must press this button in order to actually make any change to your profile. Simply previewing your profile will not save anything, nor does the appearance of thumbnail images mean they have been saved on the server (yet). On your first visit to this page, the button will read SUBMIT, on subsequent visits, it will read UPDATE; the action is the same in either case (save changes).
- DELETE: Pops up a window confirming your intention to delete your profile; if you click "OK", your profile will no longer be available to be shown on the Ticket2Talk display.
